The original family firm, I.Vollmann & Co. was founded in 1870 by Isidor Vollmann and was focused on the production of specialist paints and resins. It was located in the German town of Meiningen.
Three sons took over the business in 1910 and founded the UK branch in 1936. The business moved in its entirety to the UK in 1939 and merged with a larger firm in the 1960s. The family name continued in various professions and in 2006 re-emerged as the name of the independent corporate finance firm, previously called Artemis Corporate Finance.
